Hard to believe that after all this wonderful weather we have been having, after a wet morning it looked as if we would have to hold the ceremony I led recently for a lovely Scandinavian couple (one Swedish, one Norwegian) inside. Fortunately the sun came out just in time and after a sterling effort from the staff at The Manor By The Lake we were able to gather in front of one of the pavilions in their beautiful gardens.
The wedding had a blue and white theme, and the bride looked radiant as she walked down in the aisle, preceded by her Maid of Honour and 4 bridesmaids. After greeting everyone in Norwegian and Swedish, the rest of the ceremony was in English! The couple exchanged vows they had each written but not shared with each other beforehand. After exchanging rings we celebrated with a handfasting, tied in an infinity knot to represent their everlasting love. The couple then celebrated their union through the blending of sands, taking an extra bottle which they are going to fill with sand from their honeymoon.
It was a truly lovely and joyous occasion. Wishing them both long and lasting happiness.
