One of the absolute joys of being a wedding celebrant is creating a wedding ceremony that is individually tailored to each couple. For some having family and friends present is really important: for others, an intimate wedding ceremony is what feels right. So it was for Sarah and Tim, who celebrated their love and commitment to each other earlier this month.
Their ceremony was set in the beautiful gardens of The Hare and Hounds Hotel in Westonbirt, Gloucestershire, in ‘The Breeze Room’. In glorious sunshine and surrounded by birdsong and the colours of Spring, our intimate ceremony reflected upon their love story; how they met, how their love has grown and developed, and the depth of love they have come to share. They exchanged personal vows they had created themselves. Then, after exchanging rings, their union was sealed with a handfasting ritual, the 4 colours in the plaited cord representing qualities they wished for in their relationship. They ended their ceremony with their first dance.
It truly was a joyous and heartfelt ceremony, their love for each other simply radiating.
