A beautiful and spiritual riverside setting was the venue for a lovely ceremony I had the privilege to lead last month. The site had additional significance as it was part of the grounds where the bride grew up within a close and supportive community.
Guests assembled on benches in the ceremony area and the bride arrived from the side with her mother and 2 bridesmaids. The bride was dressed in dark gold and her escorts all wore outfits that beautifully complimented the natural setting.
The ceremony area itself was next to a river that runs through the property and the sight and gentle sound of the water flowing in the background offered a beautiful backdrop for this special event. We were doubly blessed with the weather which was perfect for the occasion.
The couple exchanged vows and rings, then were hand-fasted using ribbons they had woven themselves. At the end of the ceremony they left the area and guests moved towards the marquee where the reception was to be held, forming a line and showering the newlyweds with confetti as they made their way there.
It was a really beautiful occasion and I was delighted and privileged to have been a part of it and to share the love and joy of the couple and those around them.
Wishing them many years of happiness together.
