One of the many advantages of having your wedding ceremony prepared and led by a civil celebrant is that you get to have exactly what you want. There are no ‘rules’ around things such as length or content. And the truth is, some couples want a fairly simple ceremony.
This lovely couple wanted their wedding ceremony to be personal but also fairly traditional and concise. In the lovely setting of the Maximillian Room in Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham, we had a beautiful yet simple ceremony.
The bride was preceded down the aisle by two sweet flower girls scattering petals. Accompanied by groomsmen, the bridesmaids then followed, dressed in sage green. Finally the bride. accompanied by her father joined us at the front, where the groom was waiting.
After the welcome we had a brief account of the couple’s journey together so far. They exchanged traditional vows, sealing these by the giving of rings followed by a kiss. Signing a certificate to mark the occasion, with their respective mums to witness this provided a lovely photo opportunity before they were formally presented to friends and family as Mr. and Mrs.
The occasion was a great example of how even a short ceremony can be heartfelt and beautiful. Wishing them both love and happiness for their future together.
