An Intimate Cotswold Wedding
September 8, 2021

After over a year of cancellations and postponements, it was such a pleasure to lead my first wedding ceremony of the season earlier this week for Natasha and Jordan. Although still subject to restrictions in terms of numbers (only 30 people were allowed to attend) this in no way diminished the event, but rather brought a sense of intimacy to the occasion

At the beautiful Cotswold venue, Manor by the Lake, we were blessed by beautiful weather, enabling us to have the ceremony outside in the main pavilion. After a somewhat nerve-racking delay for the groom as he awaited his bride, she eventually arrived, preceded by 4 flower girls (including their daughter, Millie), a page boy and 3 bridesmaids. Natasha was escorted by her father, David, a very important moment for both of them.

After welcoming everyone, we reminded ourselves of the bride and groom’s story, as well as the joys and responsibilities of love and marriage. The couple had prepared individual promises ,which each read out to the other, before exchanging traditional vows, followed by a ring exchange and kiss.

The couple had chosen to seal their vows with a handfasting. The chords they chose were made up of blue for serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom and health, white for new beginnings, ivory for purity and softness and silver for wealth, elegance and sophistication.

We finished the ceremony with a family sand-ceremony, which included little Millie, celebrating their union as a family. The couple then left the ceremony area to the cheers and good wishes of their families.

It was a truly wonderful occasion and my sincere best wishes to Natasha, Jordan and Millie as the begin this next chapter in their lives.
